Glaucoma is an optic neuropathy or weakening of the optic nerve in the eye usually caused by an increase in the pressure inside the eye. This can lead to decrease in the visual field of the eye and ultimately leads to blindness.
Diagnosing this condition at the earliest is of utmost importance as it often goes unnoticed due to the lack of significant symptoms till the advanced stages.
Our hospital is equipped with advanced computerised Visual Field Analyser, OCT machine and other tools which aid our expert Glaucoma specialist in accurately diagnosing glaucoma. The treatment can be medical or surgical, based on the stage of the disease and the patient.
The retina is the posterior most layer of the eye, containing all the nerve fibres and photoreceptors capture incoming photons or light waves seen by the eye and transmit them in the form of electrical impulses so that the brain can perceive the image.
The vitreous is a jelly like substance just in front of the retina, which helps to maintain the normal shape of the eye and keeps the retina in its place.
Disorders of the vitreo-retinal complex include diabetic retinopathy, age related macular degeneration, retinal detachment, dystrophies, degenerations etc.
Saradev Eye hospital is equipped with the latest laser technology, OCT machine and intravitreal injections used in the diagnosis and treatment of various retinal diseases.

Infections of the cornea are also seen quite often.
Refractive surgery involves the use of a special laser to change the shape of the cornea or the use of implantable lenses inside the eye to reduce/negate the use of glasses and provide better cosmesis
